DECEMBER 2008

I finished school the first week of December & have been free to roam about the cabin-I've been spending a day at each of the kids school, eating lunch with them & the whole deal. It's been so fun to get to see what they do each day, & meet the little people they're always talking about! Blake likes to run & play "monster" (me) when I come spend the day with him-for the top photo, he found a little tube on the playground to hide in. The kids love to make sugar cookies, roll em', cut em', frost em'. They always do a great job. It's been so fun to have snow this month & we've been out sledding several times. We ventured down to temple square to see the lights and took the Frontrunner (train) & tracks to get there. It was a fun little adventure but made me appreciate the comfort of my own car! It sure is convenient to zip right up to where you want to go & when you are done you get home so much quicker than having to make transfers & then wait for all the stops etc..! Especially when you're soaking wet! We had a nice little snowstorm the day of our SLC trek, check out the size of Sierra's snowball! We had another monumental event take place this month...Sierra stopped sucking her thumb! She did a great job once she set her mind to it. We had a celebration dinner at Pepper Belly's (yummy mexican!) & Sierra got her reward of a little mp3 player, we filled it up with Disney soundtracks, French for kids CD's we had, and of course a little Sarah McLachlan & Jack Johnson (don't know where she gets that from?). We had a great Christmas eve with the kids acting out the Nativity, Sierra really got into it & really loved on baby Jesus. Blake was a little more concerned with the huge wooden shephards hook that my mom provided. He's such a funny kid, give him a "weapon" & he morphs! He's really a good little dude he just loves to "kung fu" like his favorite panda! Blake & Sierra loved having my sister Andrea over for the Christmas eve festivities-they both sure love her! We had a great Christmas morning, Blake's main gift was a wooden train set, which he loved, & Sierra's was a baby doll that wets diapers-yay! & some Littlest Pet Shop plush toys. They seemed to enjoy everything but both said their favorite gift was the little musical electric guitars. We'll be rockin' in the New Year-yay for mommy-lol!

NOVEMBER 2008

We enjoyed a month of THANKS! Man I'm grateful for all that I've been blessed with. These two kids are just about the best thing since sliced bread :) The kids really hate to sleep in their own rooms and decided to share Sierra's little twin bed one night. I was amazed they could both stay on it! The kids were showing me how old they were by holding up their fingers-I loved how Blake did "3". They are little skating champions with their little knee & elbow pads :) Blake is a good sport from time to time & lets me style his hair, one day I was doing a mohawk and he said "I have a shark on my head!", then I popped it up in the front (similar to this do) and he said "I have grass on my head!" what a good description eh?! Check out their adorable crafts from school. Sierra's school had lunch at the cafeteria about a week before Thanksgiving and they dressed up like "Native Americans", they crafted these little vests and headbands. Blake's class had a sharing feast and each child brought something to share. We made a little "thanksgiving mix" with Bugle chips (cornucopias) , cranberries etc.. This picture of Blake's craft is a baker's hat-hilarious! And I had to throw in some of these lovey kidlets, they really do love each other and can be very sweet with each other. They have a special kinship & can make each other laugh so hard. I love their little senses of humor-they crack me up, & I'm one grateful girl to get to be their mum!!

OCTOBER 2008

I love the fall!! We enjoyed an October with a couple of balmy stretches, as you'll notice in the pictures of us carving pumpkins at our house (I opted for an outdoor carving to eliminate the indoor mess :)). We went to a fun pumpkin patch, ran through the hay mazes and picked a couple of lovely pumpkins. We also hit the Lagoon a couple final times, we'd never been to frightmares so that was a nice way to finish out the season passes. I've also included a little video of some interpretive dance the kids improv'd on the front lawn. They have long loved the story "The very hungry caterpillar" and decided to act it out with Sierra narrating-hilarious! For Halloween itself we had a fun carnival at our church with games for the kids. Sierra had two costumes this year, for the ward party she was a "bee" and then for Halloween night she decided that she wanted to be "Jessie" (Toy Story II) after seeing me in my costume for work. We were able to whip up some chaps and she sported my wig. Blake was an adorable skeleton, this year we painted his face up though-very scary! The night worked out well to go trick-or-treating with Sierra's best friend Sasha and her family, the kids made out like bandits (we're still enjoying that dang candy in December!), what a fun time!

SEPTEMBER 2008

We have been busy with school, still getting out to a little Lagoon on the weekends. The kids are still enjoying the nice weather and riding their bikes. We did get to go to the new Chuck-E-Cheese in Layton for my nephew's birthday-party on Bill! That place is chaos! I can't image working there, you'd have to have a migraine every night! The kids do love it, and I have to admit there is one redeeming virtue to it all-pictures of the kids at the little sketch booth. It's like a photo booth but the image looks like it was sketched by pencil-it's really cool and only costs 1 token :) Thought I'd throw a picture I was able to get of Sierra getting on her bus-it's one of the highlights of going to school.
