MARCH 2009

Blake has a little buddy that lives right across the street named Brock, the kids love to play with him in the "secret hide out" (formerly known as the "scary forest", which is a island of trees and bushes in their front/side yard) and jump on the trampoline. One day the kids found a sharp blade out in the yard and Sierra decided to carve a big flap in their trampoline. Fabulous! Needless to say, we now have their old sliced tramp and we got them a new one from ksl.com. The video clip I've included (below) is pre-trampoline slashing :) My parents were gone on my birthday so we all went out this month and celebrated at Red Robin with the amazing Carnitas Burger & Freckled Lemonade-one of my VERY favorites!!! This month has been quite eventful, I started the HCG Diet mid month as well as broke my toe at the hospital, I rolled a 2k pound "sand bed" onto it after bringing a patient down to the Radiology dept. Not comfy! I'm just glad I didn't slice several toes off-it was beasty!!! I basically smashed the last little bone in my toe but the real doozy was taken out on the soft tissue, the next day it was HUGE and all purple. Sierra decided that she wanted to take off her training wheels and it was the cutest thing ever, she literally just took right off. I guess her training wheels had been pretty loose for a while so she had gotten used to riding without much help for a while-still hilarious to watch her tear it up! We've been getting DUMPED on with snow! Here's a little pic of Sierra waiting to head out to the bus all suited up, brings a little "Christmas Story" to mind, and of course her daily companion Asher loved to hang out with her till she left for the bus. The final offering is a little St. Patty's tribute-"Green eggs & Ham" (Jerry Sienfeld's wife style). I made the green eggs from her recipe book which takes a whole lot of pureed spinach. I like spinach so I thought it was pretty good, but check out how vibrant they are! I'll cut back on the spinach next time, I think it would be a little more tasty and not quite so daunting to look at :)

FEVRIER 2009

Well, Feb is birthday time for us girls in the fam. Sierra is on the 22nd, celebrating her 6th Birthday this year & I'm on the 19th breaking into my 31st year like a silent stalker :) Sierra had a fun morning opening her presents. She is really into horses lately, all animals in general, but she LOVES horses. She wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up & I think she'll be fantastic at it!! She really loves having Asher (my bro's rottie) live with us & now that he's fully integrated into the house she loves putting her arm over his back and pal'ing around with him. Oh, I had to include the birthday cake monstrosity! Seemed like a good idea, but the barbie doll pic was soooo ugly & totally out of proportion with the Pampered Chef cake mold thing-Sorry I made the ugliest cake ever for your 6th b-day Sierra!! I went to Sierra's school to have lunch with her for her b-day, I asked her where she wanted to have lunch (since she is in Kindergarten, I figured we could go somewhere fun for her special lunch date), where did she choose of all places? The Burton Elementary Cafeteria. Yummmy! HaHa. It's so funny, Sierra just loves to have me be there and be apart of her school experience I guess. This month brought some more fun, I got to have a little Thai lunch with some of my dear friends from my mission! I love all these cats, some of my most favorite people in the whole wide world. I'm so happy to be back in touch with them! Both the kids love to help in the kitchen so I caught a cute moment with Sierra helping my mom make...I believe it was cookies? The other pictures are just random jibs into our life, you can see the funny little personalities these two have. They are quite a pair, and are (and will continue to be) the life of the party. They love to make people laugh & love to pull silly faces etc... I love my little buddies!

JANUARY2009

Well, unfortunately I don't have alot of documentation of January :( The one thing to share is that we started a new tradition for NEW YEARS! We made crepes & popped some sparkling cider "bubbly". The kids had a blast & I enjoyed having a little crepe action after a loooong spell of none, I'm even thinking that perhaps my kids have never enjoyed the crepe goodness!! Don't know why I've let the french cooking slip...I will try harder! Hopefully you'll enjoy our budding director...Sierra! She loves to take pictures and craft videos, what a funny kid! On New Years Eve we took Sierra's best friend Sasha with us to the Treehouse Museum to have a little countdown at noon. The kids got their faces painted, blew their little kazoo's and basically terrorized the museum, it was great fun! Here's a funny little pic of Sierra & her friends Sasha & Etienne posing dress-up/ballerina style. We also had a great Christmas, we love having my sister Andrea so close and enjoyed hanging out with her and her family at their house Christmas afternoon. I've included a little pic of perhaps the kids favorite gift-the rockin' guitars-they love to bring the tunes on large & in charge!
